JOB DESCRIPTION

The Field operator strives to maintain safe conditions in the plant while assuming the responsibility for the following:

  1. Make adjustments to process variables in coordination with the control room
  2. Prepare Na2CO3, Na2SO3 and CaCl2 chemical solutions as needed.
  3. Monitor concentrations of prepared chemicals and adjust as needed
  4. Generate work orders on anomalies found that require maintenance work
  5. Make adjustments as indicated by the control room or the Lab
  6. Fill hypo, caustic or acid trailers when needed, and fill documentation
  7. Change hypo and cooling water filters when needed
  8. Make inventory of chemicals and replenish as needed.
  9. Receive rail cars and prepare for trans-loading.
  10. Receive salt trucks and submit documentation
  11. Set and clean press-filter
  12. Maintain the good appearance of the plant and do housekeeping as required
  13. Interact in a courteous and respectful manner with co-workers and customers
  14. Participate in weekly safety meetings
  15. Other activities in coordination with the CR to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

REPORTS

  • Fill routines and report anomalies. Make corrections as needed
  • Fill and email the field status report
  • Report in the log book any changes made to the process during the shift
  • Participate and report all shift issues during pass-down
  • Report immediately any situations that compromise operation or safety
