JOB DESCRIPTION
The Field operator strives to maintain safe conditions in the plant while assuming the responsibility for the following:
- Make adjustments to process variables in coordination with the control room
- Prepare Na2CO3, Na2SO3 and CaCl2 chemical solutions as needed.
- Monitor concentrations of prepared chemicals and adjust as needed
- Generate work orders on anomalies found that require maintenance work
- Make adjustments as indicated by the control room or the Lab
- Fill hypo, caustic or acid trailers when needed, and fill documentation
- Change hypo and cooling water filters when needed
- Make inventory of chemicals and replenish as needed.
- Receive rail cars and prepare for trans-loading.
- Receive salt trucks and submit documentation
- Set and clean press-filter
- Maintain the good appearance of the plant and do housekeeping as required
- Interact in a courteous and respectful manner with co-workers and customers
- Participate in weekly safety meetings
- Other activities in coordination with the CR to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
REPORTS
- Fill routines and report anomalies. Make corrections as needed
- Fill and email the field status report
- Report in the log book any changes made to the process during the shift
- Participate and report all shift issues during pass-down
- Report immediately any situations that compromise operation or safety
